Firstly, this opinion is solely that of the author and not of Forces Compare.

As an ex Buckshee tom in the Reg I’ve waited for this day. Assuming I’d be at war with a generic MOD statement and arguing the case against women serving in the parachute regiment after they’ve just given someone a paper pass.

After speaking to various people on the course all I can say is congratulations to Captain Wild on being the first female to pass All Arms P Company. Turns out she was an absolute machine and fully deserved the pass. Key take always for me are

• Carried her team on the stretcher
• Floored her male counterpart in Milling

So while Captain Wild has blazed a trail, in the interest of complete equality – let’s not forget she’s just another Rupert Craphat.
