Between 1 March 2020 and 16 April 2020, there were 80 confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the British Armed Forces, including two deaths recorded.

Although these figures could be much higher, as the Ministry of Defence are not routinely providing numbers of its personnel that have contracted the virus.

These figures were obtained from freedom of Information (FoI) requests submitted to the government department.

The two members of the Royal Navy confirmed to have died with the virus are yet to be named.

It is also not known where they contracted the virus or where in the UK they were first admitted to hospital.

Forces Compare has contacted the Ministry of Defence to provide comment.
